Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (1991)

Directed by Tom Stoppard

Stoppard adapted his own play — a witty, postmodern variation on the theme of Hamlet, starring Tim Roth and Gary Oldman as the Prince’s hapless college pals.

Shakespeare in Love (1998)

Directed by Guy Madden

An imaginative romantic comedy which finds young Will Shakespeare besotted by Gwyneth Paltrow. Co-written by Tom Stoppard.

Sleuth 2007
